Mrs. Victoria Henderson, (Me Maw) 90 of Mt Airy MD passed peacefully from this world at Lorian Nursing Home of Mt Airy MD on May 3rd, 2014
Victoria was born September 17, 1923 in Kentucky, to Valentine and Anna Ramplewich.
Her family lived in West Virginia, and Vic later moved to Maryland to raise her 4 children.
As a young woman during World War ll she worked as a welder for the war effort in Baltimore MD. In her later years she was the co owner of the Bethesda Community Store with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Edward Henderson, daughter Linda Sue and her 5 siblings.
She is survived by two sons William Edward Henderson Jr of Frostburg, Michael David Henderson and wife Gretchen (Margo), of Jefferson MD. Two daughters: Deborah Lynn Sartwell and husband Gerry, Maryann Jayne Griffith and husband Fred, both of Mount Airy MD
Seven grandchildren who she loved and nurtured: William E Henderson lll(wife Kendra), Joseph Henderson (wife Heather), Christopher Michael, Timothy William, Thomas Patrick Sartwell. Kathrine Victoria and Victoria Ann Griffith.
She also leaves 5 great grandchildren.
Victoria will be remembered for her fantastic sense of humor and constant devotion to her family.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm on Wednesday May 7, 2014 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy MD where funeral services will begin at 8:00pm.
Burial will take place in High Lawn Memorial Park 1435 E. Main Street, Oak Hill, West Virginia 25901 on Friday the 9th of May at 11 AM.
