Verlin Mowel Sr.
December 11, 1934 — January 10, 2017
Verlin Lee Mowel, Sr., age 82, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 after an extended illness. Born December 11, 1934 in Baileyton, TN, he was the son of the late George Wesley and Nancy Ellen Arnold Mowell.
Verlin was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, barbeques on the deck, visiting his “second home” in Tennessee, taking long rides on back country roads, loved his cars, and spending time outdoors working in his yard.
Left to cherish the memories of Verlin are his beloved wife of 60 years: Marcella Fletcher Mowel; one son: Verlin Lee Mowel, Jr.; two daughters and son-in-laws: Vickie and Ronnie Cline, Brenda and Larry Brockwell; five grandchildren: Brenda Walburn and husband Robert, Jason Cline and wife Tiffany, Steven Brockwell, Ryan Brockwell and Kevin Brockwell; four great-grandchildren: Brody Walburn, Maxwell Walburn, Logan Cline and Serah Cline; and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; niece: Betty Mowell MacKnight and husband Richard; and several other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike on Sunday, January 15th from 3-5:00pm followed by a services at 5:00pm in the Funeral home Chapel.
