Verinder Sabharwal, 87, of Hanworth, England, passed from this life on Saturday, August 12, 2017 surrounded by her family in Frederick, Maryland.
Born on May 7, 1930, in Nairobi, Kenya, she was the daughter of the late Lal Singh Gabria and Karam Kaur Gabria.
She was the beloved wife of the late Mohinder Singh. They were deeply in love and devoted to each other for over 50 years.
She attended high school and college in Kenya and received her certification in education. She taught English, Math,Writing and the Arts. She kept the children engaged with her enthusiastic spirit and left an indelible impression in their young lives until the family moved to England in 1974. She then worked at British Airways in various positions until her retirement in 1990.
Verinder loved life and enjoyed tending to her roses, cooking, crocheting, yoga, swimming and traveling with her family. She touched many lives during her journey and will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her daughter, Prabhjot "Nani" K. Gabri, and her husband, Daljit Singh Gabri, her sons, Rajvir Singh Sabharwal and Jaswinder Singh Sabharwal.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD. for a celebration of Verinder's life journey. Bhai Gurdarshan Singh will officiate.
