Vera Stowell

Vera Irene Stowell. 90, of Frederick went home to be with her Lord on June 15th, 2012
surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 5, 1922 in Port Huron, Michigan, formerly a resident of P.G. County and a
34 year resident of Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late Roy &Dorothy
Clarke. Vera was the wife of the late Frank W. Stowell to whom she was married for 30
years. Together they had 3 children, Frank Leroy Stowell of West River, MD; Joyce
Stowell Tripp and husband John of Frederick; Judith (Judy Girl) Carol Whiteside and
husband Ken of Walkersville. Grandchildren; Kimberly Whiteside Failor and husband
David of Walkersville, Keith Wayne Whiteside and wife Jeanne of Racine, WI and Dawn
Brook Tripp of Frederick. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces
and nephews. Vera will also be dearly missed by her adopted family the Mossburg's of
Ijamsville.
In earlier years Vera worked in retail, was a Sunday school teacher, a Girl Scout leader
and a wonderful mother. She attended the Church of the Open Door in Westminster, MD.
When she was unable to attend her church she enjoyed fellowship at South End Baptist
Church, Frederick. She also enjoyed fellowship with her senior group, going out to eat
with friends & family, especially her son Frank, sewing afghans, and helping her
daughter Joyce with Avon.
The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday June 19, 2012 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike,  Frederick Md. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am on Wednesday June 20, at South End Baptist Church, 506 Carrollton Drive, Frederick. Officiating will be Pastor Ken Stalls and Pastor
John Campbell.
Interment will follow at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South End Baptist Church,
Frederick or Walkersville Community Church, Walkersville.
