Mrs. Vera Jean May, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away, Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Thurmont, Maryland. She was the loving wife of Charles E. May, Sr.
Mrs. May was born in Oliver Springs, TN on November 11, 1945 to Joseph Glenn Ridings and Mildred Lorraine Ridings.
She leaves behind two sons and was step-mother to six children that will miss her dearly. Ronald Walter (Maureen) of Thurmont, MD and Michael Walter (Lydia) of Fairfield, PA, JoAnn Seward of Cocoa, FL, Kathi Reed of Mesa, AZ, Charles May, Jr. (Brenda) of Fairfield, PA, Teresa May (Todd) of Elgin, SC, Sharon Hurley of Rockledge, FL, and Renee May (Chuck) of Cocoa, FL. She leaves 14 grandchildren: Mikey Walter (Erika), Tyler Walter, Krista Walter, Christy Lofchick (Cory), Leslie Priester (Al), Angela Kane (Jeremy), Buddy Allen, Daniel Fitzgerald (Rikki), Jessica Worrell (Robert), Matthew Hurley, Bryan Fitzgerald (Destiny), Wade Boggs, Daphne DeGenarro (Matthew), and Austin Hicks. She also leaves many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Ridings and Stephen Ridings.
Mrs. May was a member of the Thurmont American Auxiliary Legion Post 168. Mrs. May was a volunteer at Thurmont Senior Center and a member of the Red Hat Mamas of Thurmont
