Velma Rosalie (Smith) Young

Velma Rosalie (Smith) Young, 83, of 6509 Gilardi Road, Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Washington County Hospital.
Born on March 4, 1926 in Rohrersville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Carley and Erma (Nicodemus) Smith.
Mrs. Young was a retired employee of the Boonsboro High School were she has worked for over 30 years in the Cafeteria. She was a member of the Boonsboro Bible Church.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dean R. Young; two daughters, Gloria and her husband Gilbert Green, and Deanna and her husband Charles Sigler all of Boonsboro; one granddaughter Heather and her husband Tim Martz; one grandson Charles Sigler, Jr.; three great-grandsons, Dylan and Dalton Martz, and Alex Sigler; and one great-grandaughter Katlin Sigler.
Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her two brothers, Gerald and Carlton Smith.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Rev. Robert D. Welty will officiate. Interment will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
Friends may visit at the funeral home beginning at 12 noon on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m.
