Vaughn Rodney Welty, 88, of Boonsboro, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Doey's House in Hagerstown.

Born on May 20, 1929, in Boonsboro, he was the son of the late John E. and A. Irene (Hutzell) Welty.

Vaughn was a 1948 graduate of Boonsboro High School. He honorably served with the Army National Guard in Highfield.

He was employed by Brandt Cabinet Works in Hagerstown retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Beaver Creek Christian Church where he served as a former Deacon. He will be remembered by the many sports activities in Boonsboro and was an avid bowler. Vaughn was often seen with his friends at the local AC&T.

He is survived by cousins and special friends, John Young and Joan Reese.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 23rd with Rev. J. Mark Curran officiating. Burial will be held at Boonsboro Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Doey's House, care of Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740 or to Beaver Creek Christian Church, 9711 Beaver Creek Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
