Vallet Monroe

Vallet Gloria "Valerie" Monroe, 72, of Frederick, MD, accepted her invitation from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 16, 2024 at Frederick Health Hospital, in Frederick, MD. Born on October 30, 1951 to the late Roy and Lucille Hackey Chase, Vallet retired from N.I.S.T., formerly National Bureau of Standards in 2003, after 30 years of service.

Vallet was an avid fan of Western television, alongside her word find puzzles. The devoted wife of Joseph Monroe, Sr. - a lifetime of memories lasting an amazing 51 years. Vallet is also survived by 'self proclaimed' mommas boy, Joseph Jr. (Stephanie); one sister, Marie Gillis (Carl); three brothers: Ellis-Ray, Howard (Margrett) and Melvin Chase. Also left to cherish in her memories are granddaughter Oleta and Heaven; great-granddaughters Kyia, Amiya, Naytoma and great-grandson Isaiah, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Vallet was predeceased by three sisters: Norine, Girlean and Lavana alongside four brothers: Earvin, Calvin, Edgar and Norman.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 10 to 11 AM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
