Mrs. Valene Imogene McLean, 91, of Frederick died Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Northampton Manor Health Care. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Cameron McLean.
Born July 6, 1922 in Arnold, PA, she was the daughter of the late James A. Ewing and Laura Valena Mitchell.
Valene had a career in retail sales and was a homemaker. Her favorite topic of conversation, to all who would listen, was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Surviving are two daughters, Jonnie Kay McLean and husband, Norman Morrison, of Baltimore; and Cathy Sue Mizell and husband, Marshall P., of Frederick; four grandchildren, Melissa D. Anzick of Frederick; Carlei S. O'Neal and husband, Shaun, of Frederick; Cameron B. Mizell and wife, Mitzi, of Winthrop, ME; and Kevin M. Mizell and wife, Amber, of the Dominican Republic; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, James Cameron McLean; one sister; and two brothers.
Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1811 Latham Drive, Frederick.
Interment Saturday at 11 a.m. at Norbeck Memorial Park, Olney.
