V. Jeannie Pantazes, 70, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Columbia, MD. She was the wife of Sarkis Tuniyev her husband of 24 years.
Born on December 6, 1953, in Washington, D.C., Jeannie was the cherished daughter of the late James Nicholas Pantazes and Anna Rousos Pantazes.
A dedicated scholar, Jeannie earned two Master’s degrees, reflecting her commitment to education and personal growth. She devoted over 30 years to running her own Addiction Counseling service, providing compassionate care to countless individuals. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she pursued her passion for equestrianism by owning and managing racehorses.
Jeannie was a proud member of the American Legion, the Saint Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church of Frederick, and Eagle Voice, demonstrating her active involvement in her community and faith.
An animal lover at heart, she cared deeply for the many animals on her farm, especially her horses. Known for her infectious sense of humor, Jeannie had a natural ability to make those around her smile. Above all, she treasured her family and people, fostering connections that left lasting.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons: Damien and wife Keri and Garen and wife Luba; four siblings: Chrissy and husband Jay, Mike and wife Melanie, Dino, Soula and husband Tim; two sisters-in law: Charlotte and Litsa; six grandchildren as well and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, November 21, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Wallkersville, MD 21793. A celebration of Jeannie's life journey will take place at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 22, at St. Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 920 W. 7th Street in Frederick, MD. Father John Bullock will officiate. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery (Harpers Ferry) in Harpers Ferry, W. VA.
Memorial donations may be made to the West Virginia Humane Society.
