Tyler Moore

July 23, 1984 — February 6, 2014

Mr. Tyler Samuel Moore, 29, of Frederick died Thursday, February 6, 2014.  Born on July 23, 1984 in Provo, Utah, he was the beloved son of David and Carolyn Moore of Thurmont.  He lived in Federal Way, Washington until he was 13 years old when he moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin.  He moved to Maryland his senior year and graduated from Catoctin High School in 2002.  He married Christina Martin on June 6, 2006.  They later divorced.

Tyler served with the 82nd Airborne, Alpha Company, 2/508th PIR, 82nd ABN Division, completing two tours in Afghanistan.  He was proud to serve his country.  At the time of his death he was completing his final semester at Frederick Community College and was planning on attending Towson University in the fall.  He was employed at the Frederick Way Station.

Tyler loved his dogs, Carlee and Turner.  He will be remembered for the great love and compassion he had for others.  He is survived by his dogs; his parents; brother Nathan and wife Maren of Portland, OR; sister Jessica Webster and husband Brian of Clearfield, UT; Grandparents A. Norton and Gloria Chaston of Provo, UT; Grandmother Joan Moore of Spokane, WA; 2 nieces and 2 nephews.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather Samuel Moore.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday February 14, 2014, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.  Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on  Saturday, February 15, 2014, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1811 Latham Drive, Frederick. Inurnment will take place at the Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Tyler’s name to the PTSD Foundation of America, P.O. Box 690748, Houston, Texas 77269.

Arrangements are by Stauffer Funeral Home and Crematory in Frederick and online condolences may be expressed at staufferfuneralhome.com
