Mr. Truman Randall "Randy" Cox, 51, of Keymar died unexpectedly Thursday, November 20, 2014 following an extended illness.

Born January 20, 1963 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Joan Keefer Cox of Keymar and the late Victor Lee Cox.

Randy was a 1981 graduate of Walkersville High School and a 1985 graduate of University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a degree in agriculture. Following graduation, he started his own business, R & S Landscaping. In 1996, he began a career with Frederick Community College as a grounds keeper until his health issues caused him to retire.

In earlier years, Randy enjoyed playing baseball and softball and was an avid baseball card collector. He took great pride in his '81 Camaro and '87 Olds 442.

Randy was a member of Mt. Zion (Haugh's) Lutheran Church in Ladiesburg and Terra Rubra Lions Club in Keysville.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Melanie Cox, and daughter, Natalie Cox, of Keymar; brother, Brian Cox and wife, Susan, of Keymar; his niece, Emily Cox of Birdsboro, PA; and his nephews, Matthew, Andrew and Grant Cox, all of Keymar.

Randy will be remembered by his good friends: Barry Burch, Charles Cramer, Lee West, Roger Smith, Art Harpold, Donnie Vierra, Brian Wiles, Matt Butler, Doug Jacobs, his college baseball coach, Mac Cassell, and the Warner Family.

A memorial service, with lunch to follow will be held at 1:00 p.m. on December 21, 2014 at the Terra Rubra Lions Activities Building, 6300 Middleburg Road, Keymar, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Terra Rubra Lions Charities, in care of Larry Stambaugh, Treasurer, 7135 Keysville Road, Keymar, MD 21757  Donations will be used for low vision research.
