Troy Dale Stangle Sr.

Troy D. Stangle Sr., 58, of Keedysville, MD, passed from this life on Friday, March 1, 2024 surrounded by family in his home in Keedysville, MD.

Born on September 22, 1965, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of Nancy Jean Stangle.

Troy was a welder by trade, he worked at Shade Equipment, and Manitowac. He also did work in the warehouse of Shwan's and Jefferson Distribution.

He was a member of the Paw Paw Volunteer Fire & Rescue Co, and a member of the Covenant Church in Shepherdstown, WV.

Troy loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved Bluegrass music and was self-taught, he also was a self-taught Luthier. He could play any instrument, but mastered the banjo and dobro. Troy played in several bands over the years, including Nickel Misery, All 4Hymn, High Octan, Cops, and Stoney Creek.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Georgeann Stangle; mother, Nancy Jean Siler, two sisters; Michelle Fredman, and Colleen Siler, three sons; Troy Stangle Jr., and wife Tiffany of Waynesboro, PA, Joshua Stangle and wife Emily of Martinsburg, WV, and Aaron Stangle and wife Vanessa of Martinsburg, WV. Seven grandchildren; Gabrielle, Axel, Asher, Mason, Abel, Adlee, Colton, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son; Mathias Stangle, grandson; August Stangle, paternal father, Roger Plotner, and step-father Raymond Siler.

A celebration of Troy's life journey will take place at the Covenant Church 7485 Shepherstown Pike, Shepherstown, WV, 25443 on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 2:00 pm with fellowship and music, with a service starting at 3:00 pm at the Covenant Church. Pastor Joel Rainey will officiate. A meal will follow after the service.
