Tom Rankin

Mr. Tom Milton Rankin, 82, of Woodbine, MD., passed away Thursday December 31, 2015 at Johns Hopkins University Hospital.
He was the husband of Judith Seeger Rankin.
Born November 23 1933 in Six Mile Run, PA, he was the son of the late Edgar James, Sr. and Roseann Edwards Rankin.
Mr.Rankin retired after 37 years of service from Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab. Tom enjoyed gardening, repairing and restoring automobiles and building and flying model airplanes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Tom Rankin, Jr and wife Jennifer of Sparta, TN, Tina Robertson and husband Richard of Columbia, SC, Joe Rankin and wife Jennifer of New Market, MD and Mary Rose Rankin of Silver Spring, MD, two grandchildren Helen Rankin and Troy Robertson, a brother Richard Rankin and a sister Barbara Bambic. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his siblings E. James Rankin, Dave Rankin, Doris Hozik and Olive Black.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, MD., Tuesday, January 5, from 6 - 9:00 pm, where service will be held Wednesday, January 6, at 10:00 am.
Interment Duvall Cemetery Six Mile Run, PA.
