Todd Pendleton

April 10, 1943 — February 4, 2015

Todd Ellis Pendleton, 71, artist, sculptor, and print maker, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday morning, February 4, 2015, at North Hampton Health Center in Frederick.

Born on April 10, 1943,  in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late George E. and Margaret L. (Bodenstein) Pendleton.

Todd's working career began as a Fine Arts teacher with Montgomery County Public Schools.  He was also a Fine Arts professor at the University of Maryland, College Park and at the Maryland School of Art and Design, where he taught so many students the same love and appreciation of fine arts that he had.  Along with his brother, he also owned and operated Sculpture House in Kensington, Maryland for more than twenty years. Todd is survived by his loving wife and companion of thirty-seven years, Donna Walker-Pendleton, whom he married on December 10, 1988; his daughter, Denise Ann Pendleton-De La Rosa of Laguna Beach, California; his grandson, Andres De La Rosa; his step-daughter, Michelle S. Walker-Rice of Byram, Mississippi; ; step-son,  Kevin J. Walker of Dover, Pennsylvania;  and his five step-grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.  He is also survived by his brother, John "Jack" Edward Pendleton and wife, Patricia, of Kensington, Maryland; and his niece, Lorraine M. Pendleton of Pacifica, California.  In addition, he was lovingly cared for by his nurse, Christa; and aide, Amelia.

A Celebration of Life for Todd will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at the  Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Oposstumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland 21702. Rev. Thomas Musgrove will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will be  held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, Maryland, at a later date.
