Timothy McLane

December 22, 1954 — May 14, 2013

Mr. Timothy Joseph McLane, 58, of Brunswick, MD passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at his home.
Born on December 22, 1954 he was the son of Evelyn (Wenner) McLane of Brunswick and the late Charles D. McLane, Sr.

Tim was a lifelong resident of Brunswick, Maryland. A 1972 graduate of Brunswick High, where he played football, basketball, and tennis. He is most known for his humor.  People would flock to him and leave refreshed.  He always choose in his humor to make light of himself and never at the expense of dishonoring someone else.  He had a special ability to connect with most anyone.  He himself had musical talent and enjoyed and appreciated many genres of music.  His most favorite place was the Potomac River.  He loved the outdoors, camping and fishing. All who knew him knew he was an amazing cook.  He used this talent to bless those around him. He would make treats for the children his daughter taught and he personally catered her most meaningful live events like prom, graduation and her wedding.

Tim was known to be a hard worker, a servant and never wanting praise for himself. Even during his recent illness, those closest to him describe him as never complaining.  He loved life.  His motto was "never take yourself too seriously."  He was a generous and sincere man. He gave entirely of himself and what he had to whoever needed it.  He was a man of deep affection for knowing God and walking with Him and living out his faith in the most practical ways of daily life. He left this world a thankful man for the full life he lived.

His greatest treasures were his 2 grandchildren who call him Big Daddy.  His legacy is left through them. The same joy, humor and love Tim was known for is abundant in these 2 tiny personalities.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his daughter Katie (McLane) Rymer, her husband Eric and his 2 grandchildren Timothy Josiah and Evie Joy, his sisters Monica Cady (Craig) and Peg Griffiths.  Brothers Dave McLane (Diane) and Dan McLane (Lynn).  Nieces Amy Griffiths, Colleen Torres, Shawn McLane & Kelley Bender. Nephews Andrew Griffiths & Will McLane.
In addition, "Uncle Timmy" will be missed by numerous great nephews & nieces.
Preceded by nephew Charlie McLane, niece Shelley McLane, brother-in-law Leonard Cady.

The McLane family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Caroline Gessert, who sacrificially treated Tim this last year of his life.  She gave him quality care, wisdom, love, the opportunity for hope, and the ability to leave with dignity and peace.  We are beyond grateful.
Also, a special Thank You to his sister, Peg, who faithfully and sacrificially cared for him during his terminal illness this past year.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Petersville on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 11:00 am.   Father George Limmer will be the celebrant.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
