Mr. Timothy “Tim” O. Humerick, 61, of Thurmont, MD., passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Belinda Filler Humerick, his wife of 40 years.
Born October 3, 1950 in Jimtown, MD., he was the son of the late Earl W. and Emma Kuhn Humerick.
Mr. Humerick served his Country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was a lifetime member of AMVETS Post #7.
He was employed for 35 years at the Lehigh Cement Company and after retirement he worked part time for the Frederick County Public Schools as a custodian at the Thurmont Middle School. He loved being “Pap” to his grandchildren and enjoyed cruises and his monthly poker games with his buddies.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Carly Trout and husband Ken of Emmitsburg, grandchildren Kathryn and Tobias Trout, his brother Barry Humerick and wife Tammy of Emmitsburg, nieces and nephews, Hayley and Nicholas Humerick and Brandon Ott, his brother-in-law Larry Filler (Debbie) and their children Amanda Flinn (Rick) and Brandon filler, sister-in-law Lisa Rice (Bruce) and their children Heather, Taylor and Matthew Rice, and his aunts Catherine Hurley and Pauline Grimes. Tim is also survived by many cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont on Thursday, January 26 from 2 -4 and 7 -9 pm where services will be held Friday, January 27, at 11:00 am with Rev. Sue Koenig officiating.
