Timothy Stewart Ellis, 67, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed from this life on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Born on August 22, 1949, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Kenneth Stewart and Nancy Lee (Wilhide) Ellis.
He was a 1968 Graduate of Boonsboro High School.
Tim began his career working at Hamilton Pontiac in Hagerstown and then took a job with M.P. Moller Pipe Organ Works. Around 1976, Tim began farming with his wife's family, Glenn and Patsy Wyand, in the Sharpsburg area. Later he accepted a career opportunity with the Western Maryland Research and Education Center, an extension of the University of Maryland, where he worked for 35 years doing a job he loved. He retired in January 2015.
He was a member of Mt. Vernon Reformed Church in Keedysville.
Tim's focus in life was his family and his career. He will always be remembered for his love of farming.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Bonnie Lou (Wyand) Ellis; two daughters, Jodi C. Ellis and Heather R. Figueroa and husband Ramiro, all of Sharpsburg; one sister, Pamela S. Brewer; three brothers, Christopher C., Eric B., and Teddy A. Ellis; and four grandchildren, Darren, Madison, Mason, and Aaron.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at the Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery in Bakersville, Maryland. Rev. Darrell L. Layman will officiate.
