Thurmona Moore

Thurmona Kay Moore, 78, of Jefferson, Maryland and formerly of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Paul Moore.

Born on November 12, 1939, in Ashland, KY, she was the daughter of the late Thurman and Doris (Vance) Felty. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ashland and was attending Jefferson United Church in Jefferson. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Charles Town, WV. She worked for the Department of Transportation as a Transportation Specialist in Washington D.C. for over 35 years until her retirement in 1994. She enjoyed spending time working crossword puzzles, expressing her political opinions, shopping, watching Nascar, antique cars, watching horse races and spending time outdoors gardening. She enjoyed helping those in need and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her brother.

A Celebration of Her Life’s Journey will be held at 2pm on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home in Brunswick. The family will receive friends following the service until 6pm. Inurnment will be private.

In lieu flowers, memorial donations may be made towards Cancer Research.
