Thomas W. Fry, Sr.

Mr. Thomas W. Fry Sr., 58, of Thurmont died on Sunday August 23, 2009 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Anne Fry.

Born on August 13, 1951 in York, PA., he was the son of Helen L. Sprenkle Fry of Glen Rock, PA. and the late William A. Fry.

Thomas served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was stationed in England, he worked for over 20 years for Hahn Transportation of New Market. He was a member of St. Anthony's Shrine Parish, Emmitsburg. He was an avid NASCAR fan.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are children Greg Fry of Lancaster, PA., Steve Fry and Melanie of Dover, PA., Thomas William Fry Jr. of U. S. Marine Corps Camp Kinser and Rebecca Fry of Thurmont. Daughter in law Emily Fry of Wrightsville, PA. Grandsons Shane, Brandyn and Ryan all of Wrightsville, PA. Sisters Georgia L. Amspacher and husband Mike, Joyce Wood and companion Wayne Howard, Joan Spurlock and husband Dave and Jayne England and companion Chris. Brothers James Fry and wife Peg, William F. Fry and partner Michael Deveney, Donald Fry and Michael Fry and wife Christina. Aunts Betty Wakefield, Frances Hoffmaster, Jean Bowman, Mary Wise, Thelma Druck and Janet Hickman. Uncles Norman and Robert Fry. Great Aunt Esther Smith. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call on Friday August 28, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday August 29, at St. Anthony's Shrine Parish, 16150 Saint Anthony's Rd, Emmitsburg, MD 21727-8932. Father James Donohue will officiate. Interment will be private.

The family asks that flowers be omitted and that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the family in care of Stauffer Funeral Home, Thurmont.
