Thomas {Tommy} Francis Maher

Mr. Thomas Tommy Francis Maher, 85 of Monrovia, died Monday, June 15, 2009 at Northampton Manor. He was the husband of the late Mary Repass Maher.

Born February 10, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas Francis and Matilda Leach Maher.

Mr. Maher was a member of Wesley Chapel U. M. Church, a charter member of the New Market District Volunteer Fire Dept. and a past master of the Philantropic Lodge AM& FM #168. Tommy farmed in New Market/Urbana area for over 25 years and retired in 1986 from the National Bureau of Standards. He enjoyed traveling, flower gardening and helping out on the Weller Farm.

He is survived by two children Thomas Francis Maher and wife Carolyn of Frederick and Beverly Sharrer of New Market, two grandchildren Michael Maher and wife Tita and their son Justin and Andrew Maher and wife Jenny and their son A. J., all of Frederick, his brother and sisters Doris Shea of Baltimore, Elizabeth Collins and husband Joseph of Eldersburg, Grace Cadogan of Baltimore, William Maher and wife Carol of East Brunswick, NJ, Shirley Weber and husband Terry, Robert Maher and wife Ginger all of Belair and Ruth Brock and husband Herman of Salisbury. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

He will also be remembered by his special friends Frances Weller and family.

He was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Maher.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Wednesday, June 17, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m

Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 18 at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. John Dean officiating.
Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
