Thomas Spurrier Ogle

Mr. Thomas Spurrier Ogle, 61, of Mt. Airy died on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at his residence. He was the husband of Martha Lamborn, his wife of 15 years.

Born on November 16, 1945 in Mt. Airy, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Audrey Spurrier Ogle.

Thomas was a 1963 graduate of Mt. Airy High School and of Salisbury State College. He also attended the University of Maryland where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

Thomas' career began in 1974, when he went to work for the Maryland State Department of the Environment, then the Howard County Health Department, and eventually became the Director of Noise Control for the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection, retiring in 2005 after 20 years of service.

He was the Charter President of the Mt. Airy Civic Association, Past President of the Mt. Airy Kiwanis Club and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Mt. Airy.

Tom was active with Boy Scout Troop #460, Mt. Airy and was a Ranger at Winding Trails Scout Camp.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Christopher Ogle of New Market and Daniel Pacheco of Long Beach, CA; a daughter, Susan Rachel Ogle and fiance Sean Leahy of Chester, MD; and a sister, Judith Zentz of Finksburg.

Thomas was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bob Zentz.

He will also be remembered by his former wife, Cecilia Craig of Mt. Airy.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 18, at 1:00 pm at Calvary United Methodist Church, 403 S. Main St., Mt. Airy with Rev. Dennis Yocum officiating. Interment will be private.
