Mr. Thomas E. Williams, Jr, 80, of Frederick MD died on

. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marlee Fox Williams, also of
Frederick
and three sons: Michael Williams and his wife Janice of North Carolina, Greg Williams and his fiance Terri Light of West
Virginia
, and J.D. Williams and his wife Karen of Pennsylvania. He is survived by a sister, Jeanne Graef of
Virginia
, but predeceased by a sister, Helen Williams of
Arizona. He is survived by and was the proud "Grandaddy" to 7 grandchildren, Rusty, Patty, Gregory, Kyle, Isabella, Drew and Gabriel. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom, as he was called by family and friends, was born on October 30, 1930
in
Tucson
Arizona
to Thomas E. & Helen Williams Sr. He graduated from
Frederick
High School
in 1946. Tom went on to study civil engineering at many universities, ultimately traveling back to
Indiana
where he completed a Bachelor's of Science at
Tri-State
University
in
Angola
,
Indiana
. Shortly after the birth of their son Michael, Tom and Marlee returned to
Frederick
,
MD
where Tom led a successful career as a contractor. He owned & operated a successful concrete company, Williams Concrete Business, with family friend Joe Groff for many years. He also enjoyed a long career as a
Frederick
County building inspector.
Tom was a lifelong member of Centennial
Memorial
United
Methodist
Church, serving as Sunday School Superintendent, Board of Trustee Member, Choir Member and Sunday School Teacher.
Tom was a true sports enthusiast. He was a Little League Coach, a Midget Football League Coach and an avid Redskins fan. Tom was a skilled carpenter and craftsmen. On many days he could be found in his shop creating handmade gifts for family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 & 7-9pm on Tuesday March 29, 2011 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD, where services will be held on Wednesday March 30, at 11:00am. Interment will be private at Mt.
Olivet
