Thomas Seltzer Sr.

Mr. Thomas W. Seltzer, Sr., 69, of Thurmont, died on Wednesday August 10, 2011 , at Dove Hospice House, Westminster . He was the husband of the late Frances Miller Seltzer.

Born on November 6, 1941 in Thurmont, he was the son of the late Ernest T. and Alma G. Wetzel Seltzer.

With a lifetime of truck driving for various employers he retired from York Building Products as a block truck driver. His hobby was a gunsmith, he enjoyed puzzles, hunting, gardening and going to Hobbs Hardware. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Anthony Shrine Parish, Emmitsburg.

Surviving are his children, Thomas W. Seltzer, Jr., and wife Bonnie of Thurmont, Judy Ridenour and husband David of Thurmont, Karen Davis and husband James (Rex) of Sabillasville and Kimberly Tackett and husband Eddie of Indiana. Step daughter Michelle Springer and husband Ronnie of Thurmont. Grandchildren, Jennifer Smith and fiancé Donald (Boo), Kim Smith, Jaclyn Seltzer and boyfriend Jim, Krystal Stull and husband Jeremiah, Kassondra Topper, Kyle Tackett, Josh Tackett, Natasha Seltzer and Madison Springer. Great grandchildren, Hannah Forrest, Layne Stull, Shaymus Stull and Quinnlynn Bledsoe. Special friends, Ed and Betty Stouter and Sam and Annie Eyler. He will also be missed by his dogs, Daisy and Leroy.

Friends may call on Friday August 12 from 2-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont, where the family will receive friends from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 13 at St. Anthony Shrine Parish, 16150 St. Anthony Road , Emmitsburg, at 10:00am . Interment will follow in St. Anthony Shrine Cemetery.
