Thomas E. Ryan, Jr., 58, beloved husband of Paula Mackiewicz Ryan, passed away July 7, 2017 peacefully at his home in Woodbine, Maryland surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born on December 4, 1958, in Washington, DC to Tom, Sr. and Shirley Ryan. He attended elementary school at Potomac Elementary and Mater Dei and high school at Harker Prep and Churchill High School. He met and fell in love with Paula in 1999, she would become his companion and wife for 18 wonderful years and was the love of his life. As they built their life together, they created a business of their own, Mack Ryan Signs, a successful commercial sign company operating in the Mid-Atlantic. They made their home and based their business in Woodbine, MD.
In addition to his wife Paula, he leaves behind his loving devoted son Trey and his fiancé Jennifer, his two precious granddaughters Kylie and Harper, as well as his parents Tom and Shirley Ryan; mother-in-law Margie Mackiewicz, pre-deceased father-in-law Chester Mackiewicz and numerous brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, many wonderful great friends and his dog Lucy. All of whom will miss him terribly.
Tom had many hobbies including fishing, boating, hunting, motorcycles and restoring classic cars. In addition, he was very proud and spent many hours manicuring his legendary lawn, shrubs, flowers and trees on his compound. He was a loving, loyal, faithful and respected husband, son, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He will be sadly missed by everyone who was blessed to know him. We will forever cherish his love of life, the memories and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, July 14, 2017 between 5pm - 8pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, MD
There will be a funeral mass Saturday, July 15, 2017, 11:00 am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1125 St. Michaels Road, Mt. Airy, Maryland.
