Thomas Long, Jr.

Thomas Eugene Long Jr., 43, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, January 24, 2022.

Born on May 4, 1978, in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Thomas E. Long, Sr. and wife Sue of Emmitsburg and Vicki L. Bailey of Thurmont.

He was an accomplished self employed painter in the construction industry and could fix most anything. Tommy enjoyed the outdoors by hunting and fishing; as well as spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving in addition to his parents are a daughter, Harlynn L. Long and her mother Jessy Woods of Emmitsburg; three sisters: Heather Fitzgerald and husband Daniel, Stacey Hausler and  husband Richard and Shari Stone and husband Dave; a brother, Chad Shaffer and wife Kim; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Tommy will also be remembered by his special friend and companion, Valerie Kline. The family extends a special thanks to Susan O'Toole.

A celebration of Tommy's life will take place at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 12, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St. in Thurmont, where the family will receive friends from 2-3 PM. A private interment will take place in Keysville Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a fund for his daughter Harlynn through the Woodsboro Bank.
