Thomas “Tommy” Anthony Little, Sr, 83 of Emmitsburg, passed away peacefully at his home on August 15, 2024.
He was the husband of Dorothy (Moser) Little for 62 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Wanda Reed (Ron) and Sherry Cregger (Alvin), and sons Brian Little and Tommy Little Jr. (Jeannie), all of Emmitsburg, MD. Tommy is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Born in Thurmont on May 31, 1941, he was the son of the late Joseph Levert and Mary Marjorie (Lingg) Little. Thomas is survived by two sisters, Patricia “Pat” Carson of Thurmont, MD, and Betty Boose (Dan) of Lewisburg, PA.
Thomas was preceded in death by brothers Donald, Francis, Carroll, Joseph, Jack, Phil, Leo, and John Kenneth “Kenny”, sisters Mary Louise and Catherine Wood, and two great-granddaughters.
He will be remembered with love by his many nieces, nephews, and special friends, with whom he enjoyed sharing memories.
After years of being a carpenter, Tommy went on to own the Ballfield Tavern in Emmitsburg and Tommy’s Tavern in Thurmont, where he and his wife Dot served their beloved patrons and became friends with many.
He was a life member of both the Blue Ridge Sportsmen’s Association, Fairfield, PA, and South Mountain Rod and Gun Club, Smithsburg, MD
Visitation will be at St. Anthony’s Shrine, 16150 St. Anthony’s Rd, Emmitsburg, MD on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 6-8 p.m., with a Rosary service at 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 10:00-10:45 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
A reception will follow at the Vigilant Hose Company Activities Building, 17701 Creamery Rd., Emmitsburg, MD 21727
The family is thankful for the caring people at Gettysburg Hospital and Frederick Health Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Frederick Health Hospice, 1 Frederick Health Way, Frederick, Maryland 21701, in memory of Thomas Anthony Little, Sr.
