Thomas Wiles

Thomas Lee "Tom" Wiles, 70, of Germantown died Saturday, December 16, 2017. He leaves behind his loving wife of over 20 years, Ann E. Wiles.

Born April 29, 1947 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Lee McCleary Wiles and Madeline (Measures) Wiles.

Tom was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, as well as a proud Vietnam veteran.

He retired as a truck driver with the U.S. Postal Service. Prior to that, he worked for many years as a mechanic with Montgomery County Government.

Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, and people watching. He had a passion for rescuing animals. His greatest pleasures in life were to live, laugh and love. He will be dearly missed by many.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Timothy Wiles (Patrice) of Urbana and Penny Silvis (Jason) of Frederica, DE; and nine grandchildren, Heath, Julia, Thomas, Anthony, Aiden, Avery, Olivia, Cortney, and Nicholas.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 21 and 1 to 2pm on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick followed by a service to be held in the funeral home chapel at 2 pm. Officiating will be the Rev. Tim May.

Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
