Mr. Thomas Edward Blue ,78, of Ijamsville, MD passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at the University of MD, Medical Center. He was the husband of JoAnn Blue for 55 years. They were married May 11, 1957.
Born on November 6, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the son of the late Leland and Ann Thorpe Blue.
Mr. Blue proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1955-1959. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan, GO BLUE! Prior to his retirement he worked for Eastalco in labor relations.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons Michael Blue and wife Jeanne O'Connell, M.D. of Frederick, David Blue and wife Toni of Pittsburgh, PA, Daniel Blue and wife Michele of Mt. Airy; his daughters Maryann Fox and husband Norman of Myersville and Kathleen Blue-Shores and husband Dave of Frederick; 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son Thomas J. Blue.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, January 11 at 11 AM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 E. Second St., Frederick. Father Miguel Mateo will be the celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
