Tom was very proud of his service in the United States Navy. His first tour of duty was served on the, then, newly commissioned USS Nimitz and giving him the most exciting experience and memories of his life. Following that and for a handful of years, Tom worked in construction learning concrete. Using skills he was proud to share with family and friends. Finally, he worked at the Giant Eagle in Frederick, a job he settled into and loved from day one, until his recent retirement after 28 years. He was dependable and passionate about his work duties as the inventory control clerk in the backroom and enjoyed working with his co-workers and the store vendors that he saw daily.
Tom's favorite pastimes were watching or re-watching movies and talking about them, watching his grandsons play at whatever sport was going on at the time and enjoying his precious granddaughter as an adorable little cheerleader. Always sharing pictures and stories about them. Most recently, he had thoroughly enjoyed watching, learning and sometimes participating in the details of falconry with his brother Jesse.
