Thomas Crook

Thomas E. Crook “TC”, 68, of Mount Airy, MD, passed away on September 18, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. He was the husband of 44 years to Joan Crook.

Born on April 23, 1950 in Boones Mill, VA, he was the son of the late Posey and Helen (Haines) Crook. TC worked for Bartlett and Shifflett Tree Services as a tree climber for 10 years. TC then went on to work for Waste Management services as a truck driver for more than 30 years before he retired. He also helped his son Larry to build his company, Mountain View Lawn Service. He was a hard worker and spent most of his time working. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, taking care of his K-9 companion Pepper and his horses and cow.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Larry Hurley Jr. (Lori), William “Billy” Crook (Deanna) and Toni Lynn Wiles (Tom); grandchildren, Kelsey, D.J., Kristi, Ashley, Lexi, Olivia, Billy “Muley” and Jessi Lynn “Jake”; great-grandson, Baylor; his siblings, Harold Crook (Pat), Marilyn Dillion (Kerry), Ann Wheeler (Weldon), Robert Crook (Gail) and Randy Crook (Mindy); numerous nieces and nephews; and life-long friend, JR Mills.

The family will receive friends from 5-6pm on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD. A Celebration of his Life will begin at 6pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Frederick County Humane Society, 550 Highland Street, Suite 200, Frederick, MD 21701 or to a Horse Rescue in his memory.
