Thomas O. Bazan

Thomas O. Bazan, 82, of Frederick, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Frederick Health Hospital.  He was the husband of Shirley E. Bazan, his wife of 25 years.

Born on May 7, 1940, in Spain, he was the son of the late Felipe and Carmen Bazan.

Tom worked in various retail positions for his entire life; he owned his own wine and cheese shop in Bethesda also worked for Gee Bees and Food Lion both in Frederick. 

He loved his coffee and donuts and watching sports, especially the Washington Commanders and Baltimore Orioles.

In addition to his wife, Shirley E. Bazan, he is survived by a step-daughter, Christine Bennett and her husband Eric and grandchildren: Lydia, Evan and Eli Bennett all of Michigan. He is also survived by two nieces, Tina Sutcavage and Lisa Jackson of California; brothers-in-law, Donald and Robert Haugh as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other family members. Tom will also be remembered by his closest friends, Rick Fagan and Ed Stup. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Alice Phillips and a brother-in-law A.C. Phillips.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 12 PM on Friday, April 21 at Faith United Church, 9333 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702, where a memorial service will begin at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
