Therese Ngenang Patcha

Therese Nganang Patcha née Nganje was born in Cameroon on the 3rd of August, 1940, and taken by God’s angels on the 26th of September, 2022 in Baltimore, Maryland. 

She was loving, wise, patient, selfless, soft spoken, gentle, resilient, religious and beautiful inside and out. These are the attributes used by her children , grandchildren and great grandchildren to describe her. 

Mama lived a full, happy life and was married for 48 years to Boniface Thomas Patcha, who preceded her in death. She treasured her family and her faith, beaming with pride at the achievements, no matter how small, of her children, grandchildren and great grand children. 

Cooking, baking and taking care of everyone was her passion. Mama left no stone unturned to lend a welcoming or helping hand. She was funny and feisty to the very end.

Mama was a dedicated and committed Catholic Christian, a Eucharistic Minister and an active member of the Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic Church community. When overwhelmed with the pain and suffering from her illness, we witnessed her faith grow stronger. Some of her last words were that we should continue to pray for each other.

We feel blessed to have had mama in our lives and we will forever cherish the beautiful memories we shared. 

Although her passing has created a huge void in our lives, we are glad she has found peace in heaven. We are grateful to God for sending one of His angels to be our mama, grandma and great grandma. 

Mama, we love you so much but we know it’s time for you to return home. To God be the glory!
