Theodore Abromavage, Sr.

Theodore T. Abromavage, Sr., 85, of Keedysville, Maryland, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016, at his home in Keedysville, Maryland.

Born on August 6, 1931, he was the son of the late George and Josephine (Burnetski) Abromavage.

He was a graduate of Hughestown High School.

Ted was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Alaska from 1952 to 1954.

He then attended the University of Scranton, graduating in 1958 with an accounting degree.

He was employed as an auditor with United States General Accounting Office and retired in 1987.

Ted was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Boonsboro, Maryland.

He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus.

Ted was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Antoinette "Toni" (Brislin) Abromavage; children, Anne Smith and husband Chet of Windsor, PA, Ted Abromavage, Jr. and wife Ellen of Potomac, Maryland, Mark Abromavage and wife Molly of Fairfax Station, VA, and Michael Abromavage and wife Caroline of Fairfax Station, VA; grandchildren, Andy, Philip and Mary Jo Smith; Hayley, Nathan and Sam Abromavage; Emma and Ava Abromavage; and Nora and Adam Abromavage; sister, Peggy Chropowicki; and brother, Robert Abromavage.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Abbey.

The Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate a Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at 12:00 pm at St. James Catholic Church, 121 North Main Street, Boonsboro, Maryland, 21713.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland.
