Thelma Irene Miller

Thelma Irene Miller,86, of Thurmont, MD, passed from this life on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Silverado Frederick Memory Care.

Born on June 15, 1936, in New Midway, she was the daughter of the late John Herman and Eva Lucille (Rice) Fogle.

Irene graduated from Thurmont High School in June of 1954. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Thurmont. She worked at Claire Manufacturing from 1957-1990 and then worked at Deaf Access from 1990-1998. After retiring she did home care for several family’s elderly loved ones. Irene loved to put puzzles together and had many hanging on her walls. She enjoyed reading and tole painting.

She touched many lives and was loved by everyone who got to know her.
Surviving are four sons, Rick Miller (Ruth), Gary Miller (Judy), Thomas Miller (Brenda), Jody Miller (Tisha); grandchildren, Mark, Daniel, Christina, Thomas, Jr., Brooke and Drew Miller; 9 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Joyce Bohn, Maxine Troxell, and Deb Fogle; uncle: Ernest Rice (Phyllis); and sister-in-law: Linda O’Neal (Ronnie) and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by many friends including: Albert Sauble, Virginia Harbaugh, Alice Stambaugh, and Clarence Piper.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard “Jack” Miller Jr and granddaughter: Katie Miller.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E Main Street, Thurmont, MD.
A celebration of Thelma's life will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 101 E. Main Street in Thurmont, MD with the family receiving friends one hour prior. Rev. Elsbury Chappell will officiate. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, MD.
