Thelma Marie Nolen Jennings, age 79, of Havre de Grace, MD, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Havre de Grace.
Born September 30, 1929 in Blacksburg, VA, Thelma was the daughter of the late Ophus Franklin Nolen and Janie Mae Pannell Nolen.
She was married for 40 years to the Rev. Bernard Arthur Jennings, whom passed away in 1992.
Thelma had lived in Hagerstown, MD, for 22 years until her recent illness. She previously lived in Havre de Grace for 26 years where her husband was the minister of St. John's Episcopal Church.
She had attended St. John's Episcopal Church in Hagerstown and had many good friends where she lived.
Thelma is survived by three sons, Craig Jennings and wife Linda of Gilmanton Iron Works, New Hampshire, Philip Jennings and wife Lisa of Havre de Grace, and Bruce Jennings and wife Vicki of Port Deposit, MD; and five grandchildren, Christopher, Austin, Conner, Cameron and Cody.
A memorial service will be held 2 P.M. Monday at St. John's Episcopal Church in Hagerstown. Burial will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday in St. Luke's Episcopal Church Cemetery in Brownsville, MD.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 101 S. Prospect St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
