Teresa Dawn Griffith, 52, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, passed from this life on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Born on May 3, 1971, in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John William Griffith and Marta Mynon (Bankered).
She moved around some as a kid, but a few years ago, she aced and tutored others in a PhD level theoretical physics class. That class worked her brain and she lit up when talking about it.
Early in her life, she worked with horses and rode competitively on occasion. She worked in the test kitchen at King Arthur Flour for some time as well. She loved parts of that job as it was scientific and it suited her personality. Then she worked in the office at Dayco Insulation where she met Adam. After moving to WV, she was self-employed most of the time.
She loved doing charity work to help animals. She was the coordinator for the WV chapter of the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League. She has helped a countless number of dogs over the years of being Coordinator. She helped with a few other animal charities as well.
She was an avid hockey fan. Recently she had been making a list of which teams announcers she liked to have in the background as she worked in the evenings. She has also become a baseball and college football fan. She mainly liked baseball and football for the rhythm on the announcers, more than the game itself. She did like some of the baseball teams and players so she had teams she preferred to listen to.
She is survived by her significant other, Adam Lyman, aunt, Daphne Martin (Harry), step-father Doug Thorne, sister Stephanie Harrison, and step-sister Kimberly Kritchen (Rodger).
There is a Celebration of Life and Birthday Party with a Band on April 27, 2024 starting at 2:00 pm, at the Berkeley Springs VFW.
Memorial donations may be made to. Morris Animal Foundation, 720 S. Colorado Blvd, Suite 174A Denver, CO 80246.
