Teresa Adele (Zglinicki) Gardner, 88, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life in her sleep on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Frederick. She was a breast cancer survivor
Born on October 19, 1930, in Glen Lyon, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Elizabeth (Zmijewski) Zglinicki.
She was a graduate of the Wilkes-Barre Business College. Teresa worked with the Federal Government in the CIA as a Secretary and various government agencies prior to working with the Montgomery County School System from which she retired.
Teresa was a proud life member of the Order of the Easter Star, Naomi Chapter No. 3. She was a proud recipient of the Easter Star 60 year membership pin.
Teresa married the love of her life, James E. Gardner, on October 2, 1953 at the National Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC when she was 22 years old.
She is survived by her sister, Bernadine Elick (Wilkes-Barre TWP, PA); her daughter, Sallie Preston and her husband, Stephen (Frederick); her son, Gary Gardner (Frederick); granddaughters, Sharon Preston (Hilliard, OH), Amanda Long and her husband, Tim (Frederick, MD), Stephanie Preston (Lynchburg, VA); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Zglinicki (Surprise, AZ).
A celebration of Teresa's life journey will take place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the home of her daughter, Sallie J. Preston, 1005 Lindfield Drive, Frederick, MD 21702.
