Taylor Lemkuhl Jr., 78
Taylor Lemkuhl, Jr., of Boonsboro, MD passed away, at the home of his daughter, on Saturday, January 30, 2021 surrounded by his family. Taylor was a loving husband of 55 years, devoted father, and grandfather.
He was the son of the late Taylor Lemkuhl, Sr. and Margaret Battley Lemkuhl. He was a graduate of Great Mills High School, Great Mills, MD, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and later earned an associate degree from the University of Delaware. He was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Boonsboro, MD, and past member of the Western Maryland Track Officials Association and Elks Club.
Taylor was employed at J. B. Ferguson & Co. and self employed as a Water/Wastewater Contractor and beef farmer. He was an avid collector of antique furniture, toys, Indian pottery and baskets. Dedicating hours to students at Boonsboro High School teaching photography, getting students' art work prepared for exhibition, and helping with cross country and track was a special joy for him. But, he was especially devoted to his grandchildren. As long as he was able, Taylor rarely missed a band concert, baseball game, basketball game, football game, orchestra concert, soccer match or track meet.
Taylor is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Lemkuhl; daughter, Yvette May, son-in-law, Hugh O’Neill, daughter, Yvonne Krayer, son-in-law, Russell Krayer; sister-in-law, Eleanor Lakin; and grandchildren, Hunter May, Hadley May, William Krayer, Nicholas Krayer, and Robert Krayer. Taylor is also survived by half-brother, Robert LaPointe; and cousins, Deb Ayers, Janice Lee Nord, and Pat Wisniewski.
