Tammy Smith

Mrs. Tammy June Smith, 46, of Frederick died Friday, August 15, 2014 at Kline Hospice House with her family by her side following an 8 year battle with breast cancer. She was the loving wife of Daniel Smith. They were to celebrate their 23rd wedding anniversary in September.

Born October 28, 1967 in Abingdon, Virginia, she was the daughter of Robert Frank West of Meadowview, VA, and the late Opal Geneva Terry West.

Tammy was a loving wife and mother who adored spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking and the simple things in life. Tammy had a strong faith and was an active supporter of the Maryland School for the Deaf. She was well-known for her infectious giggle and warm hugs. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband and father, Tammy is survived by three children, Christopher Ryan Smith, Samuel Evan Smith, and Erica Danielle Smith; three sisters, Barbara Rascon and husband, T.R., of Fayetteville, NC, and their children, Rebecca and Jessica; Donna Flynn and husband, Ryan, of Front Royal, VA, and their children, Charlie, Sean and Liam; and Terri Cabanilla and husband, Louis, of Arlington, MA, and their daughter, Geneva; and father-in-law, Richard H. Smith of Mt. Airy.

Tammy was predeceased by her mother, Opal Geneva Terry West, and her mother-in-law, Anna Mae Smith.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20 from the funeral home chapel with visitation from 10-11. Officiating will be the Rev. David Albertson, of Living Grace Lutheran Church.

Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
