Ta Van Joey Dang, 39, of Frederick, MD passed away Friday, September 16, 2016.
Born on February 10, 1977 in Da Nang, Vietnam, he immigrated to the U.S. as a young child, and resided in Chicago in his early years. He is the youngest son of Ngia Dang and Loi Nyugen.
Joey graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a MEd in Secondary Education Science. He received his Bachelors of Arts in Biology from Hood College. He also actively served in the U.S Army as a laboratory tech and was a beloved secondary level science teacher in the Frederick County Public Schools, and at the Independence School in Delaware. He inspired his students to strive further than what they thought they could achieve.
As an avid distance runner he enjoyed training for races and being outside. He valued education, and enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and Church Family.
He is survived by sons Wesley and Andrew, and wife Helen.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 22nd from 6-8 PM. Memorial services will take place on Friday, September 23rd at 12:30PM at Stauffer Funeral home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.
