Sylvia Weant

Mrs. Sylvia J. Weant, 74, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at Dove House.  She was the wife of Earl Weant  her husband of   58 years.

Born January 2, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Palmer Eugene and Earlean Davis Glass.

Mrs. Weant was a member of Weller United Methodist Church, the Amvets Post #7 (where she was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary), and the American Legion Post #168.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to Ocean City and traveling.  In earlier years she was an avid bowler.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Debbie Hobbs and husband Edward of Thurmont, her granddaughter Laura Niper and husband Brian of Mt. Airy, a great grandson Damon Niper, two sisters Arlean Fogle and husband Robert and Cindy Shire and husband Randy  all of Thurmont, many nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law  Linda and Nancy Glass.  She will also be remembered by her special friends Barb and John Bowers and Carol and Dennis Martin.  She was preceded in death by a grandson Christopher Hobbs and her brothers Kenneth, Gary, Larry and Ricky Glass and  a special aunt Evelyn Davis.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont on Monday, October 26, from 2-4 and 7-9:00 pm, where services will be held Tuesday, October 27, at 11:00 am with Pastor  Bob Kells officiating.

Interment Blue Ridge Cemetery.
