Sylvia Fogle

Mrs. Sylvia Dolores (Rhodes) Fogle, 83, of Woodsboro, MD, (where she resided the last 12 years with her daughter, Laura) and formerly of Frederick and Hagerstown, MD was peacefully ushered into her heavenly Father’s Kingdom on May 9, 2017 with loved ones at her side at Frederick Memorial Hospital under Hospice care.

She was born on July 24, 1933 to Robert W. Rhodes and Olive E. Rhodes (Dunkle) in Hagerstown, MD. She was the widow of Donald Elwood Fogle, her husband of 36 years. In her lifetime she worked in several capacities; as nurses’ aide, Doubleday Printing in Cavetown, and did odd jobs after moving to Frederick.

Sylvia brought to every relationship her bright spirit, loyalty, and support. As a mother of six children, she was strong, loving, and guiding and in the words of one of her children "She was a "bang-up" Mom". She would do anything in her power for her children and grandchildren. When she would meet new people she never hesitated to share her faith bringing peace to those receptive to her message and experience. She loved to travel and was partial to train travel. She passed a lot of time reading her Bible and other devotional materials.

Sylvia leaves behind her children, son, David Edward Brezler, II (Tammy) of Springvale, Maine, daughter-in-law, Virginia (Phadette) Brezler of New York, step-son Mark Eugene Fogle (Nan) of Clermont, FL, son, Randy Chris Brezler (Julie) of Pt. Orchard, Washington, step-daughter, Brenda Marie (Fogle) Kemp (Bill) Frederick, MD, and daughter, Laura Grimes, Woodsboro, MD. Grandchildren, Dana Powell, Andre Brezler, Jason Brezler, Teresa Little, Mary Lamay, Mark Fogle, Katie Fogle, Heidi Chapman, Carie Gordy, Elizabeth Brezler, Emma Brezler, Margaret Brezler, Matthew Kemp, Joshua Kemp, Sunny Grimes, and Annie Grimes, as well as several great-grandchildren. Also surviving Sylvia, are her step-mother, Verda Rhodes, and half-brothers, Robert W. Rhodes, III (Mary) and Carroll P. Rhodes (Victoria). She will be dearly missed by her cousin, Susan Socks and her husband, Don, as well her dear friend, Sharon May.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, was her son, Robert Carrol Brezler.

The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude for the Frederick County Hospice team at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Another special thanks goes to family friend, Rita Hess who kept her company giving the family breaks. Also, all the care and support from the members and staff at the church she claimed as her second home, New Life Foursquare Church.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. when the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Foursquare Church at 5913 Jefferson Pike, Frederick, MD. Officiating will be Rev. Abe Pfiefer and Rev. Dave Hendershot. Interment will follow the service at Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Frederick.

In lieu of flowers her wishes were for memorial donations to be made to New Life Foursquare Church, 5913 Jefferson Pike, Frederick, MD 21701.
