Sylvia Fay Chaney

Sylvia Chaney, 85, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, MD.

Born on November 9, 1937, in Winding Gulf, West Virginia , she was the daughter of the late Dewey Edward Cole and Pauline Uvie (Nelson) Cole.

She was the beloved wife of Dewey Lee Chaney, he passed away February 4, 2022.

Sylvia graduated from Frederick High School and attended Frederick Community College.  She retired from Verizon with over 30 years of service.

Sylvia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who showed passion and love about the things closest to her.  She was deeply passionate about her faith and relationship with Jesus.  She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Walkersville, MD.

She is survived by her son, Shawn Chaney, and three granddaughters, Hailey, Tiffany, and Chloe.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD. 21702.

A celebration of Sylvia's life will follow at 1:00 pm.  Pastor Wes Newell will officiate.  Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in  Frederick, MD.
