Suzanne Guiney Penn

Suzanne Guiney Penn, age 83, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Saturday, February 18th 2023 at Doey’s House.
 
Born October 14, 1939 in Washington, D.C. she was the daughter of the late Joseph Brandon Guiney and Katherine Ralston Guiney.  
 
She was a graduate of St. Maria Goretti High School, Hagerstown Junior College, and received her Masters in Education from Shepherd College. She retired from the Washington County Board of Education where she taught 5th grade at several schools in Washington County, retiring from Greenbrier Elementary School after working there for 25 years. She also worked at the Hagerstown Elks Club, and after retirement she spent many years working at Mountain Valley Orchard.
 
She was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church.
 
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, J. Edward Penn, and their three children, Edward B. (Nina) Penn, Missy (Richard) Crilley, and Christopher Penn all of Beaver Creek; five grandchildren Alex (Joey) Penn Rice, Morgan Crilley, Emily Penn, Chandler (Hannah) Penn, and Brock Penn; and four great-grandchildren; sisters Katherine Lee and Carolyn Donegan; and brothers David Guiney and Robert Guiney.
 
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 23 from St. Mary's Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St., Hagerstown. 

Interment will immediately follow at Beaver Creek Cemetery. 
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Doey’s House.
