Susan Jean McHenry, 57 of Frederick died Wednesday evening July 11, 2007 after a short battle with cancer.
She was born October 6, 1949 in Frederick, MD to Mary Gearinger Hammond and the late Paul Hammond.
She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, James Patrick McHenry. Also, by a son, Ted King of Frederick and a daughter, Jessica Hogge & husband Rick of Liberty Hill, TX and a first grandson, Nicholas Patrick Hogge. In addition, she is survived by two brothers, Jim Hammond & wife Judi and John Hammond & wife Marilee and one sister, Patricia Lux & friend Daniel.
As an active member of El Shaddai Congregation, she was a lover of God and was known for her deep, personal relationship with Jesus. She lived her life as a true reflection of Him. She served as Vice President of the Frederick Aglow Lighthouse, President of the Maryland West Aglow Area Team, and was a committed prayer intercessor for Revive Israel Ministries.
She was a visionary leader, mentor to others, and a dreamer of dreams.
She was known for her corageous, loyal, giving, perservering, and compassionate nature. She loved spending time with her family, especially her new grandson, and visiting the great state of Texas. She enjoyed reading, collecting seashells, country dancing, sewing, and weaving beautiful baskets.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 1 PM with Pastor Todd Westphal officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
