Susan Merrill

Susan Mae Merrill, nee Daysh, 91, of Mt. Airy, died August 4, 2017 at her residence at the Mt. Airy Lorien. Born April 25, 1926 in Massachusetts, she married Albert G. Merrill, Jr. in 1951 and lived in Albany NY; Melrose, Massachusetts; Allendale, New Jersey; Ellicott City, Maryland and Cape Code Massachusetts, before returning to reside in Damascus and Mt. Airy, Maryland.
She is predeceased by her husband Albert, a brother and two sisters, and son Albert, III.
She is survived by daughter, Diane Merrill, of Rockville; daughter-in-law, Joanne Merrill, of Forest Hill; daughter, Deborah Mara and husband, Robert of Plymouth, Massachusetts; and by son, Jeffrey Merrill and wife, Kay of Hampstead, Maryland; and nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames XVII Century and could trace her lineage to the Mayflower and founders of Chatham, Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
The family gratefully thanks all staff at the Mt. Airy Lorien that has provided Susan with a loving home for 17 years.
