Sumpter Embrey III
January 15, 1945 — November 3, 2010
Mr. Sumpter M. Embrey, III, 65 of Monrovia, MD., passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Shady Grove Adventist Church. He was the husband of Carol Clark Embrey.
Born January 15, 1945 in Bethesda, MD., he was the son of the late Sumpter M., Jr. and Mary Sophia Embrey.
Mr. Embrey retired as a Federal Firefighter from NIH and also retired from Montgomery County School System at a bus operator. He was a lifetime member of the Gaithersburg Washington Grove Fire Department. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Matthew Embrey and Bryan Embrey both of Monrovia, many nieces, nephews, great nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister Polly Dorfman.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Monday, November 8, from 7 - 9 p.m., where services will be held Tuesday, November 9, at 11:00 a.m.
