Mrs. Sue Carol Taylor Metz, 60, of Frederick, died on Monday March 14, 2011, at the Kline Hospice House, Mt.Airy, after her long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Norman “Doc” Metz.
Born on December 16, 1950 in Washington D. C., she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Evelyn Shilling Taylor.
Sue worked for 30 years for Bechtel as a Network Specialist.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Joseph Daniel Metz and wife Kelly and Randall Hayes Metz all of Frederick. Granddaughter, Madison Metz and grandsons, Carter Metz and Ethan Fritz. Brothers, J. Darrell Taylor and wife Sylvia of New Market, Michael J. Taylor and wife Ginny of Frederick, Gary L. Taylor and wife Debbie of Smithsburg and Tay V. Taylor and wife Dorothy of Del Ray Beach, Florida. Brother in Law, Richard Pearl of Jefferson. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jaden Andrew Metz who died in 2004 and her sister Joanne Pearl who died in 1982.
The family would like to thank the Staff of Kline Hospice, Dr. Raush and Associates, Dr. Nathan and Associates, Dr. Ragif and Dr. Ashwal and Staff. Also her caregivers, Kellie Hines, Stephanie Gray, Sharon Kemlage and Sandy Mehring.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9pm on Wednesday March 16 and Thursday March 17, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, P. A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00am on Friday March 18, 2011. The Reverend Kimberly Nunburg will officiate. Interment will follow in ResthavenMemorialGardens, Frederick.
