Stephen Bennett

Stephen D. Bennett, 83, of Vineland, NJ and Dover, DE passed from this life on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Ballenger Creek Center in Frederick, MD.
He was the husband of Elsa Sinner Bennett, his wife of 61 years.
Born on September 5, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Cyril and Edith Morris Bennett.
He was raised in Scranton, PA and educated at Lehigh University earning a BS in civil engineering.
Working as a Professional Engineer, Steve dedicated 35 years to the concrete pipe manufacturing industry primarily in New Jersey. He was active with the American Concrete Pipe Association and was a Director in 1990. He retired in 1992 as the President of Kerr Concrete Pipe.
Steve enjoyed wood working, golf, model trains and spending time with family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Susan Reed of Mt. Airy, MD and Karen A. Galuchie and husband David of Somerset, NJ; four grandchildren: Christopher Reed and wife Ashley, Samantha Potter and husband Nathan, Erin Galuchie and Timothy Galuchie; three great grandchildren: Alexander, Olivia and Caroline Reed; a brother Richard Bennett of Virginia Beach, VA. Steve was preceded in death by his son-in-law Mark Reed and his sister-in-law Wilma Bennett.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Thursday, January 17, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville in Mt. Airy where services will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
